Planning your Playa Blanca villa holidays and have questions? Below you’ll find the answers to the things we’re asked most about our bookings, villas and the resort. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, please get in touch and we’ll be happy to help.
We understand that booking with an overseas company can feel like a risk. All payments are processed securely by Visa and Mastercard through Stripe, so your card details are fully protected. You can browse our full range of properties on our villas page.
Playa Blanca is a very family-friendly resort and the locals love children. Some of our villas have terraces with lockable gates to prevent unsupervised pool access — email us if this is important to you and we’ll recommend the best options. The biggest hazards are running on wet surfaces near the pool and using electrical items while still wet, so a watchful eye is always the best precaution. The beaches are safe for families, though children should always be accompanied by an adult.
Lanzarote enjoys sunshine all year round, with average highs of 20 °C in winter and 29 °C in summer. A light breeze keeps things comfortable but can disguise the strength of the sun — always wear sun cream. The odd cloudy spell is possible, mainly in winter, but rarely lasts long. For a full month-by-month breakdown, see our Lanzarote weather guide.
Playa Blanca is more relaxed than party-focused. The Centro Comercial Papagayo has bars open until the early hours, and several seafront restaurants and bars stay open until around 2 am. There is live music in various venues throughout the week. For dining, check out our guide to the best Playa Blanca restaurants.
There’s plenty to keep you busy. In the resort you’ll find boat trips, diving, water sports, the Aqualava waterpark and the twice-weekly Marina Rubicon market. Further afield, Timanfaya National Park, the wine region of La Geria and the beautiful village of Yaiza are all easy day trips. You can also catch a ferry to Fuerteventura for the day. For a full rundown, see our Playa Blanca excursions guide.
Playa Blanca is easy to explore on foot, but public buses connect the resort to Arrecife, Puerto del Carmen and the airport. Routes run regularly and accept contactless payment. For full timetables and fares, see our Playa Blanca bus services guide. If you’d prefer to drive, our Lanzarote car hire guide covers the best local companies and prices.
During office hours our resort manager is on call to help. Outside office hours (6 pm to 10 am) we operate a 24-hour emergency call-out service. Our team includes villa managers, tradespeople and translators, so whatever the issue, we can get it resolved quickly.
We inspect every property before your arrival and describe each one accurately. If something goes wrong during your stay, please report it immediately so we can act fast. We are not the villa owners and cannot guarantee a move to alternative accommodation, but we will always do our best to resolve the situation and seek recompense from the owner on your behalf. Our terms and conditions require that you have adequate holiday insurance in place before booking.
Playa Blanca has a public health centre (Centro de Salud) and several private clinics with English-speaking doctors. UK visitors should bring their GHIC (Global Health Insurance Card) for access to state healthcare, but we strongly recommend travel insurance as well. Full details — including dentists, pharmacies and emergency numbers — are in our healthcare in Playa Blanca guide.

We have a property sales division called Optima Estate, based in the same resort. Our advisor can talk you through the best villas for holiday letting income — we’ve been in the Lanzarote property market for over 20 years. Don’t worry, we’re not a timeshare company. We’ll only discuss property purchases if you specifically ask.
