We all know how important it is to have a regular break from the daily routine. But according to a recently released survey holidays are even more important than sex for many Brits! With one third of all respondents stating that they’d value an extra week’s vacation over a romantic liaison.
What would you sacrifice for an extra week in the sun each year? This is the question that travel company Expedia posed to thousands of UK residents and the results have just been released, producing some eye opening responses.
For example, 30% of Brits claimed that they would take a pay cut in return for an extra week in the sun. Whilst a whopping 61% would even switch jobs if their new employer was offering them more paid holiday time. And an amazing 28% of UK residents also claimed that they would be happy to give up sex in return for more time away from work.
The Expedia survey also found that holidays bring happiness to more Brits than just about anything else. With 46% stating that this was their prime source of contentment, over getting a tax refund (17%), finding lost money (14%), being told you look younger than you really are (9%) or birthdays (8%).
So there you have it, the real secret of a happy and contented life is to book more breaks abroad.
