Easyjet named most reliable

April 5, 2017

Which UK airline is the most reliable? Well if you’re planning a villa holiday here on Lanzarote during the course of 2015 then you’d be best advised to book your flights with easyJet, as according to aviation analysis experts OAG they are the carrier that most regularly arrives on time.

OAG are one of the leading exponents in the air travel analytics arena, providing the data that fuels many airlines and travel portals. As a result they are ideally placed to pronounce on punctuality and they have just released their official League Table for 2014.

Perhaps somewhat worryingly for patriots the top ten slots in this year’s standings are all occupied by non-British operators, with air Baltic flying away with the top honour of world’s most reliable airline with 94.9% of all flights during 2014 arriving on time.

Indeed you have to trawl through until 14th place before a British airline starts to fly the flag, which is where the orange clad carrier easyJet features, just ahead of Japan’s All Nippon Airways.

The next best performing British based airline was Monarch, followed by Jet2 with 86.9% of their flights landing on schedule.

OAG also assessed the best airports for travellers. And if you really dread delays, make sure that you book flights out of Bristol airport, as it is now officially the most punctual small airport in the world, never mind the UK, with 94.4% of the flights departing from the Avon hub touching down punctually on arrival at their final destination.

Just in case you are unlucky enough to book a delayed or even cancelled flight we’ve also produced some helpful information which outlines your passenger air travel rights.
