Been back a few weeks now, thinks its only stopped raining a couple of times in the whole time we have been back. Had a really great time at Villa Jameos, really miss Playa Blanca and that yellow thing in the sky. Can't wait to come back, will certainly stay with Optima, great service, great villa.

Lanzarote Weather and Climate Information
Lanzarote Weather Forecast
It can be surprisingly difficult to find accurate and detailed weather forecasting for Lanzarote online. Most of the larger weather channels offer very generalised forecasts with quoted temperatures baring little relation to actual conditions on the ground.
Like many other locals we tend to use the excellent Wind Guru website . This gives users accurate wind and temperature information in 14 different spots across the island and is the best online weather resource for Lanzarote that we know of.
The Weather in General
Lanzarote´s location off the North West coast of Morocco delivers minimum temperatures of 20 Celsius all year round. From June through to August this climbs into the 30´s, before slowly tapering off again in November/December.
There´s little to no rainfall all year round and the island has a desert climate, which means that temperatures fall quite sharply at night-time, especially during the winter months. So in terms of what to pack think layers and bring something with long sleeves for evenings out.
Sea temperatures are fairly constant, falling to around 18 Celsius in February and March, rising to a high of 22 and 23 Celsius in August through October, before falling away again across the winter months.
Average Sunshine Hours
In terms of sunshine expect an average of 7 to 8 hours per day in winter, climbing to 11 in August. And thanks to Lanzarote´s southerly semi tropical location it stays light until at least 6pm even during the darkest depths of December. With summertime nightfall at around 9pm.
When’s The Best Time To Visit Lanzarote?
We’re frequently asked when is the best time to visit Lanzarote by our clients. The simple and quick answer is anytime at all, as you can enjoy sunny weather and beach holidays on the island all year round. That is why Lanzarote, along with the other Canaries, were once dubbed the Fortunate Islands – as temperatures here rarely fall much below 20 Celsius. whilst rainfall is very minimal. Creating a clement climate reminiscent of an eternal spring.
That being said however there are other weather conditions, such as wind and cloud, at play that can collude to occasionally make the island feel a little cooler – and this tends to happen more in the earlier months of the year. So there’s certainly an increased risk of experiencing slightly poorer weather between January and April. That being said, temperatures will still be in the 20’s - way above anything you can expect back in the UK or Eire at that time of year.
If we were going to take a holiday on Lanzarote then our favourite time of year would probably be October, as both air and sea temperatures are still high, whilst visitor numbers are lower than during the summer months. Meaning you can enjoy all of Lanzarote´s beaches in ideal climatic conditions, minus the crowds.
All of our villas are located in and around the resort of Playa Blanca and this is the warmest part of the island. Playa Blanca sits right at the southern tip of Lanzarote and even though the island is small there is a marked difference in temperatures between north and south, especially during the winter months.
Playa Blanca enjoys more sunshine and higher temperatures than the rest of the island, which is why it has become such as popular tourist hot spot.
